The study will be conducted twice yearly to monitor levels and trends in the availability, price, volume, retailer perceptions, and knowledge of antimalarial drugs at different service delivery points to facilitate policy development and implementation resulting in increased access to quality-assured ACTs.
The study will provide evidence on the extent to which ACTs are available and the origins of the brands, availability and volumes of ineffective monotherapies, and the relative price and popularity of all brands of antimalarials in order to understand demand incentives amongst caregivers, and the nature of other incentives that currently drive retailer recommendations to consumers. Every six months for the length of the project, PSI will produce and disseminate a report detailing market trends. |
